Pilsen neigborhood where the Porak's lived

Adolf Porak was born in Bohemia in 1844 and died in Chicago in 1899. The man in the posed shot is Grandpa Porak. Those are the only 2 pictures I have of him; the family one and this one, I don't know if any others exist

Giard Twp., Clayton, Co., Iowa Plat Map 1866

This Plat map shows the land owning farm residents of Giard Twp., in 1866. The map was difficult to read and in poor repair. Watson is on the boarder of square #4, illegible, and square #5. [Monona Library may be a better place to research in the future.]

Adolf and Katerina Porak came to America on this ship in May 1873. They settled in Giard Twp., Clayton Co., Iowa and then moved to Chicago, Illinois before 1880.
